Trupa italiană de prog/djent din Italia, Prospective, tocmai şi-a lansat albumul de debut, intitulat „Beyond”. Materialul conţine 10 piese, dintre care trei instrumentale, cu rol de intro, „Noise Source”, interludiu, „Interlude”, respectiv outro, „Genoma N99”. „Noise Source” deschide materialul printr-un intro teatral, cu accent pe chitara cu multe corzi, care aminteşte de Widek şi Gru. Deşi instrumentală, piesa dă dovadă de groove şi nu cade pradă minutelor în plus, cât să devină obositoare auzului.
„Watershaped” se mută în sfera Periphery, prin dansul între clean şi growl, şi interludiile de pe parcusul pieselor. „Visions” îşi întinde aţele puţin peste bariera „grea” impusă de piesa anterioară, pe când „Oumaima” este o baladă pusă în scenă de un vocal şi o chitară curate ca lacrimă.
„Overground” oferă şi ea destule pasaje memorabile, de apreciat fiind mai ales faptul că membrii trupei au luat în considerare echilibrul dintre instrumental şi voce. „ZEIST” este cea mai dură piesă de pe material, însă nu duce lipsă de chitara liant psihedelico-spaţială. „Oblivion” şi „Afterlife” pun accent mai mult pe vocea de clean şi pe lirică, înainte de a încheia cu „Genoma N99”.

The Italian prog/djent band, Prospective, has just launched its debut record, „Beyond”. The album contains 10 tracks, out of which three are instrumentals, one with the role of an intro, „Noise Source”, one intermission, „Interlude” and an outro, „Genoma N99”.
„Noise Source” opens up the record through a theatrical intro with an emphasis on the multiple strings guitar, that may remind you of Widek and Gru. Although an instrumental piece, the track has a lot of groove and doesn’t fall into the trap of overly extended tracks.
„Watershaped” moves into the Periphery sphere, through its continuous dance between cleans and growls and its interludes buried within the tracks. „Visions” extends its boundaries through the heavy limits imposed by the previous song, while „Oumaima” is a highlighted ballad by its vocals and the clean as a whistle guitar playing.
„Overground” has by itself some memorable passages, and we should appreciate the fact that the band took into consideration the balance between instrumentals and vocals. „ZEIST” is the heaviest track off the record, but doesn’t lack the connecting psychedelic guitar. „Oblivion” and „Afterlife” emphasize the cleans and the lyrics, just before ending the album with „Genoma N99”.
